Notice of Public Informational Meeting for the Town of Farmington’s Auburn Trail Connector Project
The Town of Farmington’s Auburn Trail Connector Project is currently being designed and is slated for construction in 2017. A Public Informational Meeting was held on Thursday, February 25, 2016. The meeting consisted of a presentation by the design team explaining the details of the project followed by additional time to review the displays and talk with the team and Town representatives.
The project involves the construction of a three mile long multi-use trail that will provide a bicycle and pedestrian connection between the existing Auburn Trail, that currently ends at County Road 41, and five neighborhoods located in the towns of Canandaigua and Farmington (e.g. Farmbrook, Auburn Meadows, The Estates @ Beaver Creek, Farmington Grove and Stable Gate).
This project is Phase I of a 9 mile trail that will eventually link with the Ontario Pathways Trail located in the City of Canandaigua. This phase of the trail project will construct trail segments along the abandoned railroad bed located between County Road 41 and State Route 332, along the west side of Route 332 from just north of Mountain Ash Drive to Canandaigua-Farmington Town Line Road, and along the south side of Canandaigua-Farmington Town Line Road from Route 332 to just east of Stablegate Drive. Trail spurs will also be constructed connecting the primary trail to Farmbrook and Auburn Meadows Subdivisions. It is estimated that five easements will be necessary for trail segments along Route 332 and Canandaigua-Farmington Town Line Road.
A copy of the Draft Project Scoping Report/Final Design Report has been posted upon the Town’s website www.townoffarmingtonny.com . Anyone having questions about this informational meeting is encouraged to contact Ron Brand, Director of Planning & Development, Town of Farmington, at (315) 986-8189, Monday through Friday, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
